The physical act of writing can help you remember better than just listening or reading. For example, research shows that taking notes by hand is more effective than typing on a laptop.

Cornell notes require very little preparation, making them ideal for class note-taking. The page is divided into 4 — or sometimes only 3 — different sections: Two columns, one area at the bottom of the page, and one smaller area at the top of the page:
